I’m back to my blog after 2 weeks almost. Well, I excuse myself for being inconsistent reasons being that I was quite busy qith university stuffs and when I would get home, I would simply be too tired to write something on my blog though ideas were loads. I had the will to write but not the power (willpower)

As most UoM students know, on thursday and friday, the Society for Dissemination of Self-Education (SDSE) had organised blood donation days. And there were 2 caravans on campus. Yesterday, as we were leaving from LT2 (NAC), one student came to us and asked if we would like to donate. On impulse, my reaction would be “yes” because I’ve donated in the past and I like to do good actions. But initially, I refused because I knew that I had lost weight drastically in the recent past due to fasts and loss of apetite. And there was another reason as well.
So I went in caravan to check my weight, it was 43.4-43.6 kgs. Too bad, I’m underweight
On the other hand, my friend Bhavna filled up the forms and went to check her blood (pik pouce) to know if she can donate. And yeah, the result was positve. The I requested the lady if she could check mine, and she replied in the affirmation, and the result was positive as well.
When Bhavna was almost over with her good job, the lady who checked my blood, asked me if I would want to do same, I said yes but ……. And she replied, you still can give your blood. And I was happy to do so but after SSD classes.
See below pictures which we took for ourselves : Bhavna, Cedric and I.
Bhavna almost over:
Me: When the lady was inserting the needle
—> I’m not afraid of needles, I’m a fighter and it’s in my veins and blood

Smiling Me :

Cedric who couldn’t donate in the end, because the lady inserted the needle “traver”, huh! But don’t worry Cedric, it wasn’t your fault, your intention was good.

Even lecturers participated in this good act of humanity, I won’t name them here.
Surprisingly, on Thursday, they collected around 127 pints of blood. And on Friday, half day around 60 pints. And according to one of the persons from MOHQL, in all the hospitals, 135 pints of blood is required daily. And with this, I would like all students and everyone, to do such a good action and make a difference. Show you care for people who actually really need blood whether it is for surgical purposes or for dialysis or in other cases. Who knows one day you might need this
By the way, what do you think about donating your blood to save a life and make a difference?
I really want to have your views on this, so comments are most welcome
Till the next post
Take Care
Cheers

And what are the consequences following the “travers” needle?
any hurt?
un-professionalism of the lady?
@ Yashvin: In fact, when she inserted the needle “traver”, she herself got panicked and asked the one taking care of me to “re-dresse” the needle, and so the latter did, but given the guy got panicked as well, the blood would not flow in the pints and hence they removed the needle and asked me to rest.
And used a lame excuse like “to ena test week bientot, b nu pa pik lot bras”
I’m sure the guy was hurt and he must have been in pain afterwards.
About the lady’s un-professionalism, MAYBE! Was it the first time for that day she was inserting a needle? MAYBE… because earlier, I would see her walking around and taking care of those who have already donated and giving them glucose, juice and biscuits

Aww Tushal, afraid of needles… hw sad u wn’t experience the joy of blood donation
That stupid nurse! Li bizin cone fer so travail bien first! If that mistake wld have lead to a critical situation???
I donated blood only once…it was 2 years ago.
does it hurt chaya???
@ Priscus: It didn’t hurt me actually… It’s just like a mosquito has bitten you…that’s it….then the blood will flow smoothly in the pint…there’s no pain and the good job done in some 10 minutes…mine was quicker I guess
@ Avish: Had it led to a critical situation… I dread that situation… I would better not think about it
