After the case of horse slaughtered mercilessly on the grounds of Vallée des Prêtres, here comes a new case. A lady in her fifties was strangulated in her own house. Find below article from today’s Le Mauricien:
Vallée-des-Prêtres: agression mortelle ce matin d’une quinquagénaire
Kaitoon Tengur (57 ans), habitant Vallée des Prêtres, a été victime d’un acte d’agression dans le sillage de ce qui semble être un cambriolage. Les limiers de la Criminal Investigation Division (CID) de Port-Louis Nord et de l’Alpha Squad se disent confiants de pouvoir élucider ce crime, avec une première arrestation en cours de journée, sur la base des indices recueillis sur les lieux du crime.
Vers les 5h30, une équipe de policiers affectés au poste de police de la région devait se rendre au domicile de la victime suite à un appel téléphonique. Ils devaient constater le corps inerte de la victime sur le sol avec des traces de sang.
L’indice le plus probable au sujet du mobile de cette agression mortelle, qui serait le vol, était que la maison avait été fouillée de fond en comble. Un désordre indescriptible régnait dans les chambres. L’autopsie de la victime pratiquée par le Principal Police Medical Officer, le Dr Sudesh Gungadin, attribue le décès à une strangulation.
Well, despite living in that village (if I can call it a village), I did not know anything about it till 9.00 a.m. when I got downstairs to leave home. My mum told me “To l’endroit ine re-vine populaire!” and as usual I would ask “Kine arriver aster!?!” Then only she told me about the crime. In fact, early morning around 5.15 a.m., my dad takes that route (where the lady stays) to go to the mountains to handle the vegetables grown on the slopes. He saw people grouped on the streets and wondered whether there is a fight there or some problem. He then noticed my cousine who lives nearby, and the latter told him that the lady has been killed etc. My dad and his helpers got off the vehicle to go and see. And as stated above, the house was in a real mess!
An update of the above case:
Horrible ! Kairoun Tengur, 58 ans, a subi les pires sévices avant d’être étranglée. L’un de ses agresseurs a enfoncé un morceau de bois dans ses parties intimes, puis l’a sodomisée sans ménagement. Les trois meurtriers ont participé à une reconstitution des faits cet après-midi.
Deux des suspects sont passés à table. Noordally Mohamed, 14 ans, et Nasiruddin Tengur, 23 ans, ont avoué avoir violé, sodomisé et assassiné Kairoun Tengur, 58 ans, dimanche soir. Shamoon Emamjee, 25 ans, le troisième suspect, nie toujours son implication dans ce meurtre. Ils ont comparu tous les trois devant le tribunal de Port-Louis ce matin sous une charge provisoire de meurtre.
Noordally Mohamed et Nasiruddin Tengur ont ensuite participé à une reconstitution des faits à Vallée-des-Prêtres. Ils y ont été conduits en compagnie d’une équipe de la Major Crimes Investigation Team (MCIT) et de la Special Supporting Unit (SSU). Une trentaine de policiers ainsi que quatre chiens renifleurs ont encerclé la maison de Kairoun Tengur. Les deux suspects ont été pris à partie par une foule hostile à leur descente du véhicule de la police. Des badauds armés de gourdins et de sabres étaient prêts à accueillir les deux bandits. Des pierres ont été lancées en leur direction, mais personne n’a été blessé. Hier, les limiers de la MCIT avaient emmené les deux accusés sur la scène du crime pour les besoins de l’enquête, mais ils ont dû repartir vu que les
esprits étaient surchauffés.
Vol et viol
Noordally Mohamed et Nasiruddin Tengur ont relaté avec force détails comment ils ont tué Kairoun Tengur dans la nuit de dimanche. Ils avaient mis des cagoules et ont pénétré à l’intérieur de la maison pour voler de l’argent. Kairoun Tengur revenait d’un enterrement ce soir-là. Les malfaiteurs l’ont immobilisée avant de fouiller la maison de fond en comble. Ils ont mis la main sur une somme de Rs 18 000 et 100 euros. Puis, l’un des suspects a pris un morceau de bois et l’a enfoncé dans les parties intimes de Kairoun Tengur avant de la sodomiser. Pendant ce temps, l’un de ses acolytes s’asseyait sur la victime pour l’empêcher de s’enfuir. Du coup, il lui a fracturé les côtes. Après le viol, ils ont étranglé la quinquagénaire avec son tiouss (pantalon) pour la faire taire avant de prendre la clé des champs.Lundi matin, la police a découvert le corps sans vie de Kairoun Tengur allongé sur le sol. Le Principal Police Medical Officer, le Dr Sudesh Kumar Gungadin, a attribué son décès à strangulation. Il a aussi précisé dans son rapport que la victime a été violée et sodomisée par ses agresseurs. L’inspecteur Jokhoo et son équipe ont pris les choses en main et procédé à l’arrestation des trois suspects. L’enquête est menée par l’inspecteur Ranjit Jokhoo sous la supervision du surintendant Yusouf Soopun de la MCIT.

Well, in fact, lately Vallée des Prêtres has become a bit insecure as concerns wandering on the streets. Ladies’ necklaces and handbags were being snatched by people on motorcycles. Furthermore, some weeks ago my dad witnessed a hold-up of a salesman from Nestle just a few steps away from my home. And we tend to believe that, had that salesman not parked his vehicle there, those people would have attacked my dad in the shop! But since then we are being more careful.
Some 4-5 people from the neighbourhood itself are suspected and have been taken in police custody for interrogation.
There is the community centre near my house, and I noticed a policeman posted there since a few days. I was told that he is there to guard the old people who come there for their pension. Do you think the “mal-faiteurs” will be afraid of only one policeman? Are we really secure there? Makes me wonder…
With the rise of so many crimes, thefts, personal attacks, do you think the required authorities are doing their job properly?

I think the best punishment for those BULLASS would be to send them one by one to me HELL! And i will take a wonderful pleasure to remove part of their body day by day and feed them with it!!! And what is more a shame is that one of these sh*ts is 14 years old! His mother should be the most ashamed b*tch on earth to have taken the trouble to have such a fu**ing son!!

this is tragic and very painfulto read i cant imagine whats its like for the close family coz i am related distant relations and knew the victime its very distressing to read and i just cant understand the brutality from such youths specially a 14 year old,they are not fit to be allowed to live in society they should be made to pay anf be locked aways for ever.

I do not think that we should blame authorities for all the horrible crimes hapening all around the country. They do not tell the criminals to go an commit crimes.
The problem lies even deeper. I wonder what is in the mind of criminals that they can think and plan these horrendous crimes. Are they mentally sick?
One thing I agree is that the police should be given more power to treat these criminals in the way the Police finds it fit and the great Radhoa always did. Criminals are worse than animals and they do not need to be protected under any human rights.
I know not many will agree with me. But thats the way i think.

I perfectly agree that these people should be excluded from the society since they pose a danger to other vulnerable people. But in Mauritius, we do not have enough severe laws.
I read the famous journal palab recently, and what I could understand is that two of them are “en liberté conditionelle” and the third one denies his involvement. This should not have been the case since they have already admitted their crimes, and they should have already been given their sentence!

I am not blaming the authorities for those people who are committing these crimes, because it’s definitely realistic to think that the police wouldn’t be at the places of crimes.
It’s about those people’s psychology that you are talking about. And in Mauritius, there’s not much scope for psychologists, in my humble opinion. There are so many people nowadays committing murders, but has there an effort been made to post a criminal psychologist with the investigating officers? I doubt…
It’s not only about looking into the mind of someone committing a murder, it’s about investigating all those who are committing inhuman acts like sodomy, pedophilia,rape, etc… Even within the walls of the prison, there are some of the barbarous acts taking place, but has the psychology of the condemned person been understood…I wonder…

I am mauritian national now british citizen,I am read a lot about crimes here in the uk however when its someone you know it makes it more real,not that i dont feel or have sympathy for the loss of other peoples families.Society is getting worst,i often wonder what really goes on in somebodys mind that they can actually commit such horrific crimes and hurt another human being may be they dont feel any pain have no compassion or no humanity in them.What kind of sick animal would rape their own auntie or any other person.Although nobody will tell their child to hurt somedody i think ofwhat kindof parents are they and what kind of upbringing these sadist have had.They should not even be allowed out why are they having thier freedom when an innocent person has been brutally murdered.To top it all up I hear the 14 year old has been to haaj 4 times…
