It’s 07:50hrs. I’m immersed in some reading until I realise that my mobile phone is ringing and I have to pick it up and answer. So that was Mr. DHL, saying that he has to do the delivery and was asking about where I live exactly. So the description as usual, “ou koner kot sa ena Mandir?” … “oui”… ” apres Mandir, imper plu devant, ena ene Masjid a droite, juste apres Masjid la ena Ideal Supermarket, vine la bas mem” lol
So exactly 3 hours later, at 10.50hrs, here he comes. Fortunately, I knew Mr. DHL. We got to know each other when I was working as Receptionist at Maersk (Mauritius) Limited, back in 2008. After acknowledging receipt of the parcel (signing the document), he gave me the packed parcel. *ting*
So let’s start the unwrapping process.

So the Nokia N97 Classic I got is white with silver linings. It’s beautiful and it’s sexy *ting*
Can I say love at first sight? Indeed.
So Day 1 experience, says I think I’ll be using more of the touch screen than the QWERTY keyboard 
It’s so small and I find it difficult to use :S
I am yet to explore the functionalities of the phone given I am a noob in the field. Yeah, I have to admit, but with the help of our friend Google, I’ll be able to overcome my noobness.
There is one thing which is not working and it’s Maps. It says “Something went wrong and connection failed.” 
I tried message reader and I must say it reads well, but the voice of the “virtual person” is boring. Couldn’t they have use a more sweet voice? *kidding*
As for the camera, 5MP. I can say it’s good. I’m no pro in photography but the light is dull. This can be explained by what @carrotmadman6 said [I quote]: “It’s a dual-LED flash, not Xenon. That explains the weak light.”

had one..never fell in love with it..

Nice unboxing pics, but there’s a lack of photos of the N97 itself.
Anyway, that can easily remedied in the further posts. Looking forward to the more in-depth review!

@m3rvin: I always used simple mobile phones, started with Nokia 3410, then Nokia 3110 Classic, and now Nokia 5130 XpressMusic. Now that I’m having to try a “sophisticated” one, i’m in love. Maybe if i get to try better ones, then my opinion might change.

Nice beginning Chaya but like Carrot said, lack of pictures of the phones, won’t compare yours to mine but yeah you can *fix* that in the later posts. My advice to you, posts short posts about what you’ve learnt about in every 2-3 days
Am now gonna be trialing my last Nokia device(E72) for a some time I think since I’ve done them all, so you and carrot(soon Tushal?) will be the only tweeps getting devices for a few months…
